Dear Friends and Fans,

It has been quite a year so far for Lisa and Cannongate Records! (And it's not even over, yet...) The first of the year saw a change of hands when long-time assistant, Carrie Wood, left the offices to become a mommy. (Congratulations on the birth of Keaton, a beautiful baby boy!) Lisa's new assistant, Holly Long, has been working diligently by her side to promote Lisa's music in new areas of the country, and to help keep track of all the various goings-on here at Cannongate.

There have been many new accomplishments for Lisa this year, including a new band line-up. She is so excited to be performing with her new bassist, Spencer Wright, and "cool-cat" Katisse Buckingham on the tenor and soprano saxophones and flute. Both members have added so much to the overall feel of the band. Jodie Kennedy as backup vocalist and Blake Windal on the drums, two veteran performers in the Lisa Cannon ensemble, continue to give their phenomenal energies and spirit to the live performances, not to mention stunning musicianship.

In June, the new Lisa Cannon quintet performed live at Pasadena's Old Town Conservatory to a large audience of friends and fans where they were filmed professionally! The new live concert video - with 5 NEW SONGS including "Crazy Horses" - is now available. A must for any Lisa Cannon fan!! (Sneak preview soon to be on the website - www.cannongate.com)

This summer, Lisa also had a fabulous set of shows in the Salt Lake City, UT area. The first event was an outdoor, amphitheater performance given as part of the SLC Arts Council's summer festival series. The second show was an intimate, live recording of Lisa and the piano in Vertigo recording studios. Both events were publicized on the air with a live interview of Lisa given by Program Director, Donna Land Maldanato of KRCL 90.9 FM. Marty Renzhofer, Feature writer for the Salt Lake City Tribune, also published an extensive article on Lisa in the Arts section where he praised both her music and her undying energies.

Just within the past few weeks, we have made yet another promotional breakthrough. Lisa's album is now available at the prestigious retail chain store, Hear Music on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, given the "green light" by Tim Zeigler, Head Buyer for the whole chain.

In addition, Lisa's website is linked with the National On-line Musicians Association, or www.songs.com where her CD can be heard and purchased on-line by credit card! The site supports all kinds of wonderful, up-and-coming folk-minded musicians, and is on its way to becoming quite a successful new retail source.

Lisa's next major tour is happening in October on the Eastcoast where she will do a whirlwind set of solo acoustic appearances in the Washington DC, New York and Boston areas. If you know anyone in the area, please inform them of her plans so that they can have the opportunity to experience the warmth and magic of Lisa's music for themselves!

Be sure to visit the website if you have not yet done so, or if you would care to sign up on Lisa's email fan list where you will receive updates on Lisa and the band more regularly. Feel free to call or email (info@cannongate.com) Cannongate any time-- Lisa loves to hear from fans and friends alike! We hope that '98 has brought joy and happiness thus far to everyone. May we all move toward the end of the year in high spirits and with full hearts to find greater successes and good fortune!

Peace and Love,
Lisa Cannon
